Business History
You need to know that you are dealing with a reputable business. I J.
Kayes was originally founded back in 1969 by William Henry Kayes. In those
days the business was carried out with hand carts and included both the
rag and metal trade. The business was taken over in the mid 1980's by
the founders son, Ian Kayes. Since that time the business has expanded
and been at the forefront of new developments in the industry.
The business began specialising in the recycling of metals, particularly
vehicles. This saw the business become the first to acquire new modern
technology to deal with these developments. Heavy lifting equipment and
HGV vehicles were introduced to keep the business at the forefront of
the industry. We even have a powerful metal shredder, allowing us to turn old
metal into strips making it ready to recyle.
The business employs a number of friendly and knowledgeable staff to
ensure you always receive the best of service and advice. Combined with
a variety of different trucks, plant and machinery, you can be sure that
we have the capability to deal with all matters related to scrap metal
and end of life vehicle recycling.
